8 Let the story of your mercy come to me in the morning, for my hope is in you: give me knowledge of the way in which I am to go; for my soul is lifted up to you.
God has taken his place in her; she will not be moved: he will come to her help at the dawn of morning.
Make your steps clear to me, O Lord; give me knowledge of your ways. Be my guide and teacher in the true way; for you are the God of my salvation; I am waiting for your word all the day.
And at your back, when you are turning to the right hand or to the left, a voice will be sounding in your ears, saying, This is the way in which you are to go.
Make glad the soul of your servant; for it is lifted up to you, O Lord.
Make your way clear to me, O Lord, guiding me by the right way, because of my haters.
<Of David.> To you, O Lord, my soul is lifted up. O my God, I have put my faith in you, let me not be shamed; let not my haters be glorying over me.

But Jacob said, I will not let you go till you have given me your blessing. Then he said, What is your name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel: for in your fight with God and with men you have overcome. Then Jacob said, What is your name? And he said, What is my name to you? Then he gave him a blessing.
