15 Thou shalt not steal. H1589
Let G2813 him that stole G2813 steal G2813 no more: G3371 but G1161 rather G3123 let him labour, G2872 working G2038 with his hands G5495 the thing which is good, G18 that G2443 he may have G2192 to give G3330 to him that needeth. G5532 G2192
Ye shall not steal, H1589 neither deal falsely, H3584 neither lie H8266 one H376 to another. H5997
Thou shalt not defraud H6231 thy neighbour, H7453 neither rob H1497 him: the wages H6468 of him that is hired H7916 shall not abide H3885 with thee all night until the morning. H1242
For G1063 this, Thou shalt G3431 not G3756 commit adultery, G3431 Thou shalt G5407 not G3756 kill, G5407 Thou shalt G2813 not G3756 steal, G2813 Thou shalt G5576 not G3756 bear false witness, G5576 Thou shalt G1937 not G3756 covet; G1937 and G2532 if there be any G1536 other G2087 commandment, G1785 it is briefly comprehended G346 in G1722 this G5129 saying, G3056 namely, G1722 Thou shalt love G25 thy G4675 neighbour G4139 as G5613 thyself. G1438
And the LORD H3068 spake H1696 unto Moses, H4872 saying, H559 If a soul H5315 sin, H2398 and commit H4603 a trespass H4604 against the LORD, H3068 and lie H3584 unto his neighbour H5997 in that which was delivered H6487 him to keep, or in fellowship, H8667 H3027 or in a thing taken away by violence, H1498 or hath deceived H6231 his neighbour; H5997 Or have found H4672 that which was lost, H9 and lieth H3584 concerning it, and sweareth H7650 falsely; H8267 in any H259 of all these that a man H120 doeth, H6213 sinning H2398 therein: H2007 Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, H2398 and is guilty, H816 that he shall restore H7725 that H1500 which he took violently away, H1497 or the thing H6233 which he hath deceitfully gotten, H6231 or that which was delivered H6487 H853 him to keep, H6485 or the lost thing H9 which he found, H4672 Or all that about which he hath sworn H7650 falsely; H8267 he shall even restore H7999 it in the principal, H7218 and shall add H3254 the fifth part H2549 more H3254 thereto, and give H5414 it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day H3117 of his trespass offering. H819 And he shall bring H935 his trespass offering H817 unto the LORD, H3068 a ram H352 without blemish H8549 out of the flock, H6629 with thy estimation, H6187 for a trespass offering, H817 unto the priest: H3548 And the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 for him before H6440 the LORD: H3068 and it shall be forgiven H5545 him for any thing H259 of all that he hath done H6213 in trespassing H819 therein.
And he that stealeth H1589 a man, H376 and selleth H4376 him, or if he be found H4672 in his hand, H3027 he shall surely H4191 be put to death. H4191
And G2532 said G3004 unto them, G846 It is written, G1125 My G3450 house G3624 shall be called G2564 the house G3624 of prayer; G4335 but G1161 ye G5210 have made G4160 it G846 a den G4693 of thieves. G3027
That no G3361 man go beyond G5233 and G2532 defraud G4122 his G846 brother G80 in G1722 any matter: G4229 because G1360 that the Lord G2962 is the avenger G1558 of G4012 all G3956 such, G5130 as G2531 we G4277 also G2532 have forewarned G4277 you G5213 and G2532 testified. G1263
Nor G3777 thieves, G2812 nor G3777 covetous, G4123 nor G3777 drunkards, G3183 nor G3756 revilers, G3060 nor G3756 extortioners, G727 shall inherit G3756 G2816 the kingdom G932 of God. G2316
G1161 This G5124 he said, G2036 not G3756 that G3754 he G846 cared G3199 for G4012 the poor; G4434 but G235 because G3754 he was G2258 a thief, G2812 and G2532 had G2192 the bag, G1101 and G2532 bare G941 what was put therein. G906
And G1161 he said G2036 unto G4314 them, G846 Exact G4238 no G3367 more G4119 than G3844 that which is appointed G1299 you. G5213 And G1161 the soldiers G4754 likewise G2532 demanded G1905 of him, G846 saying, G3004 And G2532 what G5101 shall we G2249 do? G4160 And G2532 he said G2036 unto G4314 them, G846 Do violence G1286 to no man, G3367 neither G3366 accuse any falsely; G4811 and G2532 be content G714 with your G5216 wages. G3800
Ye shall do H6213 no unrighteousness H5766 in judgment, H4941 in meteyard, H4060 in weight, H4948 or in measure. H4884 Just H6664 balances, H3976 just H6664 weights, H68 a just H6664 ephah, H374 and a just H6664 hin, H1969 shall ye have: I am the LORD H3068 your God, H430 which brought you out H3318 of the land H776 of Egypt. H4714 Therefore shall ye observe H8104 all my statutes, H2708 and all my judgments, H4941 and do H6213 them: I am the LORD. H3068
For G1063 out of G1537 the heart G2588 proceed G1831 evil G4190 thoughts, G1261 murders, G5408 adulteries, G3430 fornications, G4202 thefts, G2829 false witness, G5577 blasphemies: G988
Then said H559 he unto me, This is the curse H423 that goeth forth H3318 over the face H6440 of the whole earth: H776 for every one that stealeth H1589 shall be cut off H5352 as on this side according H3644 to it; and every one that sweareth H7650 shall be cut off H5352 as on that side according H3644 to it. I will bring it forth, H3318 saith H5002 the LORD H3068 of hosts, H6635 and it shall enter H935 into the house H1004 of the thief, H1590 and into the house H1004 of him that sweareth H7650 falsely H8267 by my name: H8034 and it shall remain H3885 in the midst H8432 of his house, H1004 and shall consume H3615 it with the timber H6086 thereof and the stones H68 thereof.
That they may do evil H7451 with both hands H3709 earnestly, H3190 the prince H8269 asketh, H7592 and the judge H8199 asketh for a reward; H7966 and the great H1419 man, he uttereth H1696 his mischievous H1942 desire: H5315 so they wrap it up. H5686
Are there H786 yet the treasures H214 of wickedness H7562 H376 in the house H1004 of the wicked, H7563 and the scant H7332 measure H374 that is abominable? H2194 Shall I count them pure H2135 with the wicked H7562 balances, H3976 and with the bag H3599 of deceitful H4820 weights? H68
Hear H8085 this, O ye that swallow up H7602 the needy, H34 even to make H7673 the poor H6041 H6035 of the land H776 to fail, H7673 Saying, H559 When will the new moon H2320 be gone, H5674 that we may sell H7666 corn? H7668 and the sabbath, H7676 that we may set forth H6605 wheat, H1250 making the ephah H374 small, H6994 and the shekel H8255 great, H1431 and falsifying H5791 the balances H3976 by deceit? H4820 That we may buy H7069 the poor H1800 for silver, H3701 and the needy H34 for a pair of shoes; H5275 yea, and sell H7666 the refuse H4651 of the wheat? H1250
For they know H3045 not to do H6213 right, H5229 saith H5002 the LORD, H3068 who store H686 up violence H2555 and robbery H7701 in their palaces. H759
A false H4820 balance H3976 is abomination H8441 to the LORD: H3068 but a just H8003 weight H68 is his delight. H7522
We shall find H4672 all precious H3368 substance, H1952 we shall fill H4390 our houses H1004 with spoil: H7998 Cast H5307 in thy lot H1486 among H8432 us; let us all have one H259 purse: H3599 My son, H1121 walk H3212 not thou in the way H1870 with them; refrain H4513 thy foot H7272 from their path: H5410
Because he hath oppressed H7533 and hath forsaken H5800 the poor; H1800 because he hath violently taken away H1497 an house H1004 which he builded H1129 not; Surely he shall not feel H3045 quietness H7961 in his belly, H990 he shall not save H4422 of that which he desired. H2530 There shall none of his meat H400 be left; H8300 therefore shall no man look H2342 for his goods. H2898 In the fulness H4390 H4390 of his sufficiency H5607 he shall be in straits: H3334 every hand H3027 of the wicked H6001 shall come H935 upon him.
Thou shalt not have in thy bag H3599 divers weights, H68 H68 a great H1419 and a small. H6996 Thou shalt not have in thine house H1004 divers measures, H374 H374 a great H1419 and a small. H6996 But thou shalt have a perfect H8003 and just H6664 weight, H68 a perfect H8003 and just H6664 measure H374 shalt thou have: that thy days H3117 may be lengthened H748 in the land H127 which the LORD H3068 thy God H430 giveth H5414 thee. For all that do H6213 such things, H428 and all that do H6213 unrighteously, H5766 are an abomination H8441 unto the LORD H3068 thy God. H430
If a man H376 be found H4672 stealing H1589 any H5315 of his brethren H251 of the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and maketh merchandise H6014 of him, or selleth H4376 him; then that thief H1590 shall die; H4191 and thou shalt put H1197 evil H7451 away H1197 from among H7130 you.

Commentary on Exodus 20 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 20
All things being prepared for the solemn promulgation of the divine law, we have, in this chapter,
Exd 20:1-11
Here is,
Exd 20:12-17
We have here the laws of the second table, as they are commonly called, the last six of the ten commandments, comprehending our duty to ourselves and to one another, and constituting a comment upon the second great commandment, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. As religion towards God is an essential branch of universal righteousness, so righteousness towards men is an essential branch of true religion. Godliness and honesty must go together.
Exd 20:18-21
Exd 20:22-26
Moses having gone into the thick darkness, where God was, God there spoke in his hearing only, privately and without terror, all that follows hence to the end of ch. 23, which is mostly an exposition of the ten commandments; and he was to transmit it by word of mouth first, and afterwards in writing, to the people. The laws in these verses related to God's worship.
