23 Then Joseph H3130 said H559 unto the people, H5971 Behold, I have bought H7069 H853 you this day H3117 and your land H127 for Pharaoh: H6547 lo, H1887 here is seed H2233 for you, and ye shall sow H2232 the land. H127
And the seven H7651 thin H7534 and ill favoured H7451 kine H6510 that came up H5927 after them H310 are seven H7651 years; H8141 and the seven H7651 empty H7386 ears H7641 blasted H7710 with the east wind H6921 shall be seven H7651 years H8141 of famine. H7458
And there he maketh the hungry H7457 to dwell, H3427 that they may prepare H3559 a city H5892 for habitation; H4186 And sow H2232 the fields, H7704 and plant H5193 vineyards, H3754 which may yield H6213 fruits H6529 of increase. H8393
He that tilleth H5647 his land H127 shall be satisfied H7646 with bread: H3899 but he that followeth H7291 vain H7386 persons is void H2638 of understanding. H3820
Much H7230 food H400 is in the tillage H5215 of the poor: H7218 H7326 but there is H3426 that is destroyed H5595 for want H3808 of judgment. H4941
Doth the plowman H2790 plow H2790 all day H3117 to sow? H2232 doth he open H6605 and break the clods H7702 of his ground? H127 When he hath made plain H7737 the face H6440 thereof, doth he not cast abroad H6327 the fitches, H7100 and scatter H2236 the cummin, H3646 and cast H7760 in the principal H7795 wheat H2406 and the appointed H5567 barley H8184 and the rie H3698 in their place? H1367
For as the rain H1653 cometh down, H3381 and the snow H7950 from heaven, H8064 and returneth H7725 not thither, but watereth H7301 the earth, H776 and maketh it bring forth H3205 and bud, H6779 that it may give H5414 seed H2233 to the sower, H2232 and bread H3899 to the eater: H398

Commentary on Genesis 47 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 47
In this chapter we have instances,
Gen 47:1-12
Here is,
Gen 47:13-26
Care being taken of Jacob and his family, the preservation of which was especially designed by Providence in Joseph's advancement, an account is now given of the saving of the kingdom of Egypt too from ruin; for God is King of nations as well as King of saints, and provideth food for all flesh. Joseph now returns to the management of that great trust which Pharaoh had lodged in his hand. It would have been pleasing enough to him to have gone and lived with his father and brethren in Goshen; but his employment would not permit it. When he had seen his father, and seen him well settled, he applied himself as closely as ever to the execution of his office. Note, Even natural affection must give way to necessary business. Parents and children must be content to be absent one from another, when it is necessary, on either side, for the service of God or their generation. In Joseph's transactions with the Egyptians observe,
Gen 47:27-31
