25 And I will give H5414 thee into the hand H3027 of them that seek H1245 thy life, H5315 and into the hand H3027 of them whose face H6440 thou fearest, H3016 even into the hand H3027 of Nebuchadrezzar H5019 king H4428 of Babylon, H894 and into the hand H3027 of the Chaldeans. H3778
I will even give H5414 them into the hand H3027 of their enemies, H341 and into the hand H3027 of them that seek H1245 their life: H5315 and their dead bodies H5038 shall be for meat H3978 unto the fowls H5775 of the heaven, H8064 and to the beasts H929 of the earth. H776 And Zedekiah H6667 king H4428 of Judah H3063 and his princes H8269 will I give H5414 into the hand H3027 of their enemies, H341 and into the hand H3027 of them that seek H1245 their life, H5315 and into the hand H3027 of the king H4428 of Babylon's H894 army, H2428 which are gone up H5927 from you.
And he carried away H1540 Jehoiachin H3078 to Babylon, H894 and the king's H4428 mother, H517 and the king's H4428 wives, H802 and his officers, H5631 and the mighty H352 H193 of the land, H776 those carried H3212 he into captivity H1473 from Jerusalem H3389 to Babylon. H894 And all the men H582 of might, H2428 even seven H7651 thousand, H505 and craftsmen H2796 and smiths H4525 a thousand, H505 all that were strong H1368 and apt H6213 for war, H4421 even them the king H4428 of Babylon H894 brought H935 captive H1473 to Babylon. H894
And afterward, H310 saith H5002 the LORD, H3068 I will deliver H5414 Zedekiah H6667 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 and his servants, H5650 and the people, H5971 and such as are left H7604 in this city H5892 from the pestilence, H1698 from the sword, H2719 and from the famine, H7458 into the hand H3027 of Nebuchadrezzar H5019 king H4428 of Babylon, H894 and into the hand H3027 of their enemies, H341 and into the hand H3027 of those that seek H1245 their life: H5315 and he shall smite H5221 them with the edge H6310 of the sword; H2719 he shall not spare H2347 them, neither have pity, H2550 nor have mercy. H7355
The fear H4034 of the wicked, H7563 it shall come H935 upon him: but the desire H8378 of the righteous H6662 shall be granted. H5414
Is this man H376 Coniah H3659 a despised H959 broken H5310 idol? H6089 is he a vessel H3627 wherein is no pleasure? H2656 wherefore are they cast out, H7993 he and his seed, H2233 and are cast H2904 into a land H776 which they know H3045 not?
So Zedekiah H6667 the king H4428 sware H7650 secretly H5643 unto Jeremiah, H3414 saying, H559 As the LORD H3068 liveth, H2416 that made H6213 us this soul, H5315 I will not put thee to death, H4191 neither will I give H5414 thee into the hand H3027 of these men H582 that seek H1245 thy life. H5315

Commentary on Jeremiah 22 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 22
Upon occasion of the message sent in the foregoing chapter to the house of the king, we have here recorded some sermons which Jeremiah preached at court, in some preceding reigns, that it might appear they had had fair warning long before that fatal sentence was pronounced upon them, and were put in a way to prevent it. Here is,
Jer 22:1-9
Here we have,
Jer 22:10-19
Kings, though they are gods to us, are men to God, and shall die like men; so it appears in these verses, where we have a sentence of death passed upon two kings who reigned successively in Jerusalem, two brothers, and both the ungracious sons of a very pious father.
Jer 22:20-30
This prophecy seems to have been calculated for the ungracious inglorious reign of Jeconiah, or Jehoiachin, the son of Jehoiakim, who succeeded him in the government, reigned but three months, and was then carried captive to Babylon, where he lived many years, ch. 52:31. We have, in these verses, a prophecy,
