16 When he uttereth H5414 his voice, H6963 there is a multitude H1995 of waters H4325 in the heavens; H8064 and he causeth the vapours H5387 to ascend H5927 from the ends H7097 of the earth: H776 he maketh H6213 lightnings H1300 with rain, H4306 and bringeth forth H3318 the wind H7307 out of his treasures. H214
He causeth the vapours H5387 to ascend H5927 from the ends H7097 of the earth; H776 he maketh H6213 lightnings H1300 for the rain; H4306 he bringeth H3318 the wind H7307 out of his treasuries. H214
To him that rideth H7392 upon the heavens H8064 of heavens, H8064 which were of old; H6924 lo, he doth send out H5414 his voice, H6963 and that a mighty H5797 voice. H6963
And G2532 he saith G3004 unto them, G846 Why G5101 are ye G2075 fearful, G1169 O ye of little faith? G3640 Then G5119 he arose, G1453 and rebuked G2008 the winds G417 and G2532 the sea; G2281 and G2532 there was G1096 a great G3173 calm. G1055 But G1161 the men G444 marvelled, G2296 saying, G3004 What manner of man G4217 is G2076 this, G3778 that G3754 even G2532 the winds G417 and G2532 the sea G2281 obey G5219 him! G846
And it came to pass, when the sun H8121 did arise, H2224 that God H430 prepared H4487 a vehement H2759 east H6921 wind; H7307 and the sun H8121 beat H5221 upon the head H7218 of Jonah, H3124 that he fainted, H5968 and wished H7592 in himself H5315 to die, H4191 and said, H559 It is better H2896 for me to die H4194 than to live. H2416
Are ye not as children H1121 of the Ethiopians H3569 unto me, O children H1121 of Israel? H3478 saith H5002 the LORD. H3068 Have not I brought up H5927 Israel H3478 out of the land H776 of Egypt? H4714 and the Philistines H6430 from Caphtor, H3731 and the Syrians H758 from Kir? H7024
And the sound H6963 of the cherubims' H3742 wings H3671 was heard H8085 even to the outer H2435 court, H2691 as the voice H6963 of the Almighty H7706 God H410 when he speaketh. H1696
He hath made H6213 the earth H776 by his power, H3581 he hath established H3559 the world H8398 by his wisdom, H2451 and hath stretched out H5186 the heavens H8064 by his discretion. H8394 When he uttereth H5414 his voice, H6963 there is a multitude H1995 of waters H4325 in the heavens, H8064 and he causeth the vapours H5387 to ascend H5927 from the ends H7097 of the earth; H776 he maketh H6213 lightnings H1300 with rain, H4306 and bringeth forth H3318 the wind H7307 out of his treasures. H214
He sendeth out H7971 his word, H1697 and melteth H4529 them: he causeth his wind H7307 to blow, H5380 and the waters H4325 flow. H5140
And God H430 remembered H2142 Noah, H5146 and every living thing, H2416 and all the cattle H929 that was with him in the ark: H8392 and God H430 made H5674 a wind H7307 to pass H5674 over H5921 the earth, H776 and the waters H4325 asswaged; H7918
The heathen H1471 raged, H1993 the kingdoms H4467 were moved: H4131 he uttered H5414 his voice, H6963 the earth H776 melted. H4127
The voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 is upon the waters: H4325 the God H410 of glory H3519 thundereth: H7481 the LORD H3068 is upon many H7227 waters. H4325 The voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 is powerful; H3581 the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 is full of majesty. H1926 The voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 breaketh H7665 the cedars; H730 yea, the LORD H3068 breaketh H7665 the cedars H730 of Lebanon. H3844 He maketh them also to skip H7540 like a calf; H5695 Lebanon H3844 and Sirion H8303 like a young H1121 unicorn. H7214 The voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 divideth H2672 the flames H3852 of fire. H784 The voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 shaketh H2342 the wilderness; H4057 the LORD H3068 shaketh H2342 the wilderness H4057 of Kadesh. H6946 The voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 maketh the hinds H355 to calve, H2342 and discovereth H2834 the forests: H3295 and in his temple H1964 doth every one speak H559 of his glory. H3519 The LORD H3068 sitteth H3427 upon the flood; H3999 yea, the LORD H3068 sitteth H3427 King H4428 for ever. H5769
Hast thou an arm H2220 like God? H410 or canst thou thunder H7481 with a voice H6963 like him?
Canst thou lift up H7311 thy voice H6963 to the clouds, H5645 that abundance H8229 of waters H4325 may cover H3680 thee? Canst thou send H7971 lightnings, H1300 that they may go, H3212 and say H559 unto thee, Here we are? Who hath put H7896 wisdom H2451 in the inward parts? H2910 or who hath given H5414 understanding H998 to the heart? H7907 Who can number H5608 the clouds H7834 in wisdom? H2451 or who can stay H7901 the bottles H5035 of heaven, H8064 When the dust H6083 groweth H3332 into hardness, H4165 and the clods H7263 cleave fast together? H1692
He causeth it to come, H4672 whether for correction, H7626 or for his land, H776 or for mercy. H2617
Hear H8085 attentively H8085 the noise H7267 of his voice, H6963 and the sound H1899 that goeth out H3318 of his mouth. H6310 He directeth H3474 it H8281 under the whole heaven, H8064 and his lightning H216 unto the ends H3671 of the earth. H776 After H310 it a voice H6963 roareth: H7580 he thundereth H7481 with the voice H6963 of his excellency; H1347 and he will not stay H6117 them when his voice H6963 is heard. H8085 God H410 thundereth H7481 marvellously H6381 with his voice; H6963 great things H1419 doeth H6213 he, which we cannot comprehend. H3045 For he saith H559 to the snow, H7950 Be thou H1933 on the earth; H776 likewise to the small H4306 rain, H1653 and to the great H4306 rain H1653 of his strength. H5797 He sealeth up H2856 the hand H3027 of every man; H120 that all men H582 may know H3045 his work. H4639 Then the beasts H2416 go H935 into H1119 dens, H695 and remain H7931 in their places. H4585 Out of the south H2315 cometh H935 the whirlwind: H5492 and cold H7135 out of the north. H4215 By the breath H5397 of God H410 frost H7140 is given: H5414 and the breadth H7341 of the waters H4325 is straitened. H4164 Also by watering H7377 he wearieth H2959 the thick cloud: H5645 he scattereth H6327 his bright H216 cloud: H6051
Behold, God H410 is great, H7689 and we know H3045 him not, neither can the number H4557 of his years H8141 be searched out. H2714 For he maketh small H1639 the drops H5198 of water: H4325 they pour down H2212 rain H4306 according to the vapour H108 thereof: Which the clouds H7834 do drop H5140 and distil H7491 upon man H120 abundantly. H7227 Also can any understand H995 the spreadings H4666 of the clouds, H5645 or the noise H8663 of his tabernacle? H5521 Behold, he spreadeth H6566 his light H216 upon it, and covereth H3680 the bottom H8328 of the sea. H3220 For by them judgeth H1777 he the people; H5971 he giveth H5414 meat H400 in abundance. H4342 With clouds H3709 he covereth H3680 the light; H216 and commandeth H6680 it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt. H6293 The noise H7452 thereof sheweth H5046 concerning it, the cattle H4735 also concerning the vapour. H5927
And Moses H4872 stretched out H5186 his hand H3027 over the sea; H3220 and the LORD H3068 caused the sea H3220 to go H3212 back by a strong H5794 east H6921 wind H7307 all that night, H3915 and made H7760 the sea H3220 dry H2724 land, and the waters H4325 were divided. H1234
And the LORD H3068 turned H2015 a mighty H3966 strong H2389 west H3220 wind, H7307 which took away H5375 the locusts, H697 and cast H8628 them into the Red H5488 sea; H3220 there remained H7604 not one H259 locust H697 in all the coasts H1366 of Egypt. H4714
And Moses H4872 stretched forth H5186 his rod H4294 over the land H776 of Egypt, H4714 and the LORD H3068 brought H5090 an east H6921 wind H7307 upon the land H776 all that day, H3117 and all that night; H3915 and when it was morning, H1242 the east H6921 wind H7307 brought H5375 the locusts. H697

Commentary on Jeremiah 51 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 51
The prophet, in this chapter, goes on with the prediction of Babylon's fall, to which other prophets also bore witness. He is very copious and lively in describing the foresight God had given him of it, for the encouragement of the pious captives, whose deliverance depended upon it and was to be the result of it. Here is,
Jer 51:1-58
The particulars of this copious prophecy are dispersed and interwoven, and the same things left and returned to so often that it could not well be divided into parts, but we must endeavor to collect them under their proper heads. Let us then observe here,
Jer 51:59-64
We have been long attending the judgment of Babylon in this and the foregoing chapter; now here we have the conclusion of that whole matter.
