12 And he shall take H3947 a censer H4289 full H4393 of burning H784 coals H1513 of fire H784 from off the altar H4196 before H6440 the LORD, H3068 and his hands H2651 full H4393 of sweet H5561 incense H7004 beaten small, H1851 and bring H935 it within H1004 the vail: H6532
And Nadab H5070 and Abihu, H30 the sons H1121 of Aaron, H175 took H3947 either H376 of them his censer, H4289 and put H5414 fire H784 therein, H2004 and put H7760 incense H7004 thereon, and offered H7126 strange H2114 fire H784 before H6440 the LORD, H3068 which he commanded H6680 them not.
And the LORD H3068 said H559 unto Moses, H4872 Take H3947 unto thee sweet spices, H5561 stacte, H5198 and onycha, H7827 and galbanum; H2464 these sweet H5561 spices H5561 with pure H2134 frankincense: H3828 of each H905 shall there be a like H905 weight: And thou shalt make H6213 it a perfume, H7004 a confection H7545 after the art H4639 of the apothecary, H7543 tempered H4414 together, pure H2889 and holy: H6944 And thou shalt beat H7833 some of it very small, H1854 and put H5414 of it before H6440 the testimony H5715 in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 where I will meet H3259 with thee: it shall be unto you most H6944 holy. H6944 And as for the perfume H7004 which thou shalt make, H6213 ye shall not make H6213 to yourselves according to the composition H4971 thereof: it shall be unto thee holy H6944 for the LORD. H3068 Whosoever H834 H376 shall make H6213 like unto that, to smell H7306 thereto, shall even be cut off H3772 from his people. H5971
And Moses H4872 said H559 unto Aaron, H175 Take H3947 a censer, H4289 and put H5414 fire H784 therein from off H6440 the altar, H4196 and put H7760 on incense, H7004 and go H3212 quickly H4120 unto the congregation, H5712 and make an atonement H3722 for them: for there is wrath H7110 gone out H3318 from the LORD; H3068 the plague H5063 is begun. H2490
And G2532 another G243 angel G32 came G2064 and G2532 stood G2476 at G1909 the altar, G2379 having G2192 a golden G5552 censer; G3031 and G2532 there was given G1325 unto him G846 much G4183 incense, G2368 that G2443 he should offer G1325 it with the prayers G4335 of all G3956 saints G40 upon G1909 the golden G5552 altar G2379 which G3588 was before G1799 the throne. G2362 And G2532 the smoke G2586 of the incense, G2368 which came with the prayers G4335 of the saints, G40 ascended up G305 before G1799 God G2316 out of G1537 the angel's G32 hand. G5495
And he made H6213 the holy H6944 anointing H4888 oil, H8081 and the pure H2889 incense H7004 of sweet spices, H5561 according to the work H4639 of the apothecary. H7543
Then flew H5774 one H259 of the seraphims H8314 unto me, having a live coal H7531 in his hand, H3027 which he had taken H3947 with the tongs H4457 from off the altar: H4196 And he laid H5060 it upon my mouth, H6310 and said, H559 Lo, this hath touched H5060 thy lips; H8193 and thine iniquity H5771 is taken away, H5493 and thy sin H2403 purged. H3722
How much G4214 more G3123 shall G2511 the blood G129 of Christ, G5547 who G3739 through G1223 the eternal G166 Spirit G4151 offered G4374 himself G1438 without spot G299 to God, G2316 purge G2511 your G5216 conscience G4893 from G575 dead G3498 works G2041 to G1519 serve G3000 the living G2198 God? G2316
But G1161 if G1437 we walk G4043 in G1722 the light, G5457 as G5613 he G846 is G2076 in G1722 the light, G5457 we have G2192 fellowship G2842 one with another, G3326 G240 and G2532 the blood G129 of Jesus G2424 Christ G5547 his G846 Son G5207 cleanseth G2511 us G2248 from G575 all G3956 sin. G266

Commentary on Leviticus 16 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 16
In this chapter we have the institution of the annual solemnity of the day of atonement, or expiation, which had as much gospel in it as perhaps any of the appointments of the ceremonial law, as appears by the reference the apostle makes to it, Heb. 9:7, etc. We had before divers laws concerning sin-offerings for particular persons, and to be offered upon particular occasions; but this is concerning the stated sacrifice, in which the whole nation was interested. The whole service of the day is committed to the high priest.
Lev 16:1-4
Here is,
Lev 16:5-14
The Jewish writers say that for seven days before the day of expiation the high priest was to retire from his own house, and to dwell in a chamber of the temple, that he might prepare himself for the service of this great day. During those seven days he himself did the work of the inferior priests about the sacrifices, incense, etc., that he might have his hand in for this day: he must have the institution read to him again and again, that he might be fully apprised of the whole method.
Lev 16:15-19
When the priest had come out from the sprinkling the blood of the bullock before the mercy-seat,
Lev 16:20-28
The high priest having presented unto the Lord the expiatory sacrifices, by the sprinkling of their blood, the remainder of which, it is probable, he poured out at the foot of the brazen altar,
Lev 16:29-34
Lastly, In the year of jubilee, the trumpet which proclaimed the liberty was ordered to be sounded in the close of the day of atonement, ch. 25:9. For the remission of our debt, release from our bondage, and our return to our inheritance, are all owing to the mediation and intercession of Jesus Christ. By the atonement we obtain rest for our souls, and all the glorious liberties of the children of God.
