11 Thy lips, H8193 O my spouse, H3618 drop H5197 as the honeycomb: H5317 honey H1706 and milk H2461 are under thy tongue; H3956 and the smell H7381 of thy garments H8008 is like the smell H7381 of Lebanon. H3844
And he came near, H5066 and kissed H5401 him: and he smelled H7306 the smell H7381 of his raiment, H899 and blessed H1288 him, and said, H559 See, H7200 the smell H7381 of my son H1121 is as the smell H7381 of a field H7704 which the LORD H3068 hath blessed: H1288
I am come H935 into my garden, H1588 my sister, H269 my spouse: H3618 I have gathered H717 my myrrh H4753 with my spice; H1313 I have eaten H398 my honeycomb H3293 with my honey; H1706 I have drunk H8354 my wine H3196 with my milk: H2461 eat, H398 O friends; H7453 drink, H8354 yea, drink abundantly, H7937 O beloved. H1730
By G1223 him G846 therefore G3767 let us offer G399 the sacrifice G2378 of praise G133 to God G2316 continually, G1275 that is, G5123 the fruit G2590 of our lips G5491 giving thanks G3670 to his G846 name. G3686
His branches H3127 shall spread, H3212 and his beauty H1935 shall be as the olive tree, H2132 and his smell H7381 as Lebanon. H3844 They that dwell H3427 under his shadow H6738 shall return; H7725 they shall revive H2421 as the corn, H1715 and grow H6524 as the vine: H1612 the scent H2143 thereof shall be as the wine H3196 of Lebanon. H3844
Butter H2529 and honey H1706 shall he eat, H398 that he may know H3045 to refuse H3988 the evil, H7451 and choose H977 the good. H2896
More to be desired H2530 are they than gold, H2091 yea, than much H7227 fine gold: H6337 sweeter H4966 also than honey H1706 and the honeycomb. H5317 H6688
Thy lips H8193 are like a thread H2339 of scarlet, H8144 and thy speech H4057 is comely: H5000 thy temples H7541 are like a piece H6400 of a pomegranate H7416 within H1157 thy locks. H6777
My son, H1121 eat H398 thou honey, H1706 because it is good; H2896 and the honeycomb, H5317 which is sweet H4966 to thy taste: H2441 So shall the knowledge H3045 of wisdom H2451 be unto thy soul: H5315 when thou hast found H4672 it, then there shall be H3426 a reward, H319 and thy expectation H8615 shall not be cut off. H3772
Pleasant H5278 words H561 are as an honeycomb, H6688 H1706 sweet H4966 to the soul, H5315 and health H4832 to the bones. H6106
For the lips H8193 of a strange woman H2114 drop H5197 as an honeycomb, H5317 and her mouth H2441 is smoother H2509 than oil: H8081
My lips H8193 shall greatly rejoice H7442 when I sing H2167 unto thee; and my soul, H5315 which thou hast redeemed. H6299 My tongue H3956 also shall talk H1897 of thy righteousness H6666 all the day H3117 long: for they are confounded, H954 for they are brought unto shame, H2659 that seek H1245 my hurt. H7451

Commentary on Song of Songs 4 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 4
In this chapter,
Sgs 4:1-7
Here is,
Sgs 4:8-14
These are still the words of Christ to his church, expressing his great esteem of her and affection to her, the opinion he had of her beauty and excellency, the desire he had of, and the delight he had in, her converse and society. And so ought men to love their wives as Christ loves the church, and takes pleasure in it as if it were spotless and had no fault, when yet it is compassed with infirmity. Now, observe here,
Sgs 4:15-16
These seem to be the words of the spouse, the church, in answer to the commendations which Christ, the bridegroom, had given of her as a pleasant fruitful garden. Is she a garden?
