11 He fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and stores of food, and oil and wine.
He dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to every fortified city: and he gave them food in abundance. He sought [for them] many wives.
These were those who waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
and you numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall; you made also a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you didn't look to him who had done this, neither did you have respect for him who purposed it long ago.

Chapter 11
We are here going on with the history of Rehoboam.
2Ch 11:1-12
How the ten tribes deserted the house of David we read in the foregoing chapter. They had formerly sat loose to that family (2 Sa. 20:1, 2), and now they quite threw it off, not considering how much it would weaken the common interest and take Israel down from that pitch of glory at which it had arrived in the last reign. But thus the kingdom must be corrected as well as the house of David.
