6 Thy righteousness `is' as mountains of God, Thy judgments `are' a great deep. Man and beast Thou savest, O Jehovah.
O depth of riches, and wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable His judgments, and untraceable His ways!
In the sea `is' Thy way, And Thy paths `are' in many waters, And Thy tracks have not been known.
Good `is' Jehovah to all, And His mercies `are' over all His works.
How great have been Thy works, O Jehovah, Very deep have been Thy thoughts.
for for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of all men -- especially of those believing.
whom God did set forth a mercy seat, through the faith in his blood, for the shewing forth of His righteousness, because of the passing over of the bygone sins in the forbearance of God --
At that time Jesus answering said, `I do confess to Thee, Father, Lord of the heavens and of the earth, that thou didst hide these things from wise and understanding ones, and didst reveal them to babes. Yes, Father, because so it was good pleasure before Thee.
`Are not two sparrows sold for an assar? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father; and of you -- even the hairs of the head are all numbered;
and I -- have not I pity on Nineveh, the great city, in which there are more than twelve myriads of human beings, who have not known between their right hand and their left -- and much cattle!'
Declare ye, and bring near, Yea, they take counsel together, Who hath proclaimed this from of old? From that time hath declared it? Is it not I -- Jehovah? And there is no other god besides Me, A God righteous and saving, there is none save Me. Turn to Me, and be saved, all ends of the earth, For I `am' God, and there is none else. By Myself I have sworn, Gone out from my mouth in righteousness hath a word, And it turneth not back, That to Me, bow doth every knee, every tongue swear. Only in Jehovah, said hath one, Have I righteousness and strength, Unto Him he cometh in, And ashamed are all those displeased with Him.
Far be it from Thee to do according to this thing, to put to death the righteous with the wicked; that it hath been -- as the righteous so the wicked -- far be it from Thee; doth the Judge of all the earth not do justice?'
Giving to the beast its food, To the young of the ravens that call.
Opening Thy hand, and satisfying The desire of every living thing. Righteous `is' Jehovah in all His ways, And kind in all His works.
Causing grass to spring up for cattle, And herb for the service of man, To bring forth bread from the earth, And wine -- it rejoiceth the heart of man, To cause the face to shine from oil, And bread -- the heart of man it supporteth. Satisfied `are' the trees of Jehovah, Cedars of Lebanon that He hath planted, Where birds do make nests, The stork -- the firs `are' her house. The high hills `are' for wild goats, Rocks `are' a refuge for conies, He made the moon for seasons, The sun hath known his place of entrance. Thou settest darkness, and it is night, In it doth every beast of the forest creep. The young lions are roaring for prey, And to seek from God their food. The sun riseth, they are gathered, And in their dens they crouch. Man goeth forth to his work, And to his service -- till evening. How many have been Thy works, O Jehovah, All of them in wisdom Thou hast made, Full is the earth of thy possessions. This, the sea, great and broad of sides, There `are' moving things -- innumerable, Living creatures -- small with great. There do ships go: leviathan, That Thou hast formed to play in it. All of them unto Thee do look, To give their food in its season. Thou dost give to them -- they gather, Thou dost open Thy hand -- they `are' satisfied `with' good. Thou hidest Thy face -- they are troubled, Thou gatherest their spirit -- they expire, And unto their dust they turn back. Thou sendest out Thy Spirit, they are created, And Thou renewest the face of the ground. The honour of Jehovah is to the age, Jehovah rejoiceth in His works, Who is looking to earth, and it trembleth, He cometh against hills, and they smoke. I sing to Jehovah during my life, I sing praise to my God while I exist. Sweet is my meditation on Him, I -- I do rejoice in Jehovah. Consumed are sinners from the earth, And the wicked are no more. Bless, O my soul, Jehovah. Praise ye Jehovah!
Cloud and darkness `are' round about Him, Righteousness and judgment the basis of His throne.
The Mighty! we have not found Him out, High in power and judgment, He doth not answer! And abundant in righteousness,
I have sinned, what do I to Thee, O watcher of man? Why hast Thou set me for a mark to Thee, And I am for a burden to myself -- and what?
Thou `art' He, O Jehovah, Thyself -- Thou hast made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens, and all their host, the earth and all that `are' on it, the seas and all that `are' in them, and Thou art keeping all of them alive, and the host of the heavens to Thee are bowing themselves.
The Rock! -- perfect `is' His work, For all His ways `are' just; God of stedfastness, and without iniquity: Righteous and upright `is' He.

PSALM 36
Ps 36:1-12. On servant of the Lord, see on Ps 18:1, title. The wickedness of man contrasted with the excellency of God's perfections and dispensations; and the benefit of the latter sought, and the evils of the former deprecated.
1. The general sense of this difficult verse is, "that the wicked have no fear of God." The first clause may be rendered, "Saith transgression in my heart, in respect to the wicked, there is no fear," &c., that is, such is my reflection on men's transgressions.
2-4. This reflection detailed.
until his iniquity—literally, "for finding his iniquity for hating"; that is, he persuades himself God will not so find it—"for hating" involving the idea of punishing. Hence his words of iniquity and deceit, and his bold rejection of all right principles of conduct. The climax is that he deliberately adopts and patronizes evil. The negative forms affirm more emphatically their contraries.
5, 6. mercy … and … faithfulness—as mercy and truth (Ps 25:10).
6. righteousness [and] judgments—qualities of a good government (Ps 5:8; 31:1). These all are set forth, by the figures used, as unbounded.
7. shadow of thy wings—(Compare De 32:11; Ps 91:1).
8. fatness—richness.
thy house—residence—for the privileges and blessings of communion with God (Ps 23:6; 27:4).
river of thy pleasures—plenteous supply; may allude to Eden.
9. Light is an emblem of all blessings, given of God as a means to gain more.
10. that know thee—right knowledge of God is the source of right affections and conduct.
11. foot of … hand … wicked—all kinds of violent dealing.
12. There—in the acting of violence, they are overthrown. A signal defeat.
